A market development assistance scheme is currently being operated by the Ministry of Commerce with a view to encourage exporters (including SSI exporters) to access the develop overseas market. SIDO (Ministry of SSI) is also operated Market Development Assistance (MDA) scheme to encourage SSI exporters in their efforts at tapping and development overseas market. SIDO is also participating in International Fairs. Small scale industry of the country are being encouraged to display their products at International exhibitions abroad. SIDO provides exhibitions space and shipment of exhibits Ex Mumbai free of cost for this purpose.

The display profile is intimated to the industries of the Haryana through this Institute depending upon the requirement of the country organizing the fair. The main thrust on product selection for exhibition is quality of the product. In general there are four to five overseas fairs in a year in which SIDO participates. The SIDO scheme offers funding for :

Individual assistance for participation in overseas fairs/exhibitions.

Individual overseas study tours, or tours to individuals as member of a trade delegation going abroad.

Sector specific market studies by industry association/Export Promotion Councils/Federation Of Indian Export Organization.

Initiating/contesting anti dumping cases by SSI Associations.
