The main aim of SCX is to match the spare manufacturing capacities of small scale units with the requirements of large and medium enterprises. The activity is likely to yield two way benefit by ensuring optimum utilization of spare capacities of small scale units & also by smooth supply of various items to large & medium enterprises. The main objective of the Exchange is to help SSI in improving productivity cost effectiveness through optimum utilization of their spare manufacturing capacities. The requirements of LMEs & purchasing organization will be matched with the SSI and concerned units will be informed accordingly.

The SCX can be considered as a marketing agency for the products of SSIs. LMEs have to depend on small scale units for their ancillary requirements. This activity mainly acts as marketing assistance & also it creates as awareness about the technological development among Entrepreneurs. This can be considered as linking agent between large and small scale units. There is ample opportunity for exposure of small scale units with various large & medium scale enterprises including DGS&D, DGQA, Railways, Telecom Deptt. etc. This SCX leads to the opening of new areas of industrialization, offering opportunities to new entrepreneurs. This activity also helps revival of sick units by way of offering new avenues to small scale units who are facing problems on account of non-availability of marketing. The SCXs will work for networking with other SCXs in the country for enabling flow of data and information on marketing opportunities. Computerized data base information will have to update the information periodically about a particular region.

This flow of data from one region to other region will increase the industrialization provides an opportunity for the development of new technology of new entrepreneurs. Finally, SCX is the back bone of the economy fro developing country like India. This activity has to be strengthen by giving sufficient data input, so that a clear network of industry can be achieved. Frequent meetings with the Industrial Associations & the other related problems of the industry. Hence, SCX will play a vital role in building up of gap between large & small scale industries.
